Guess what these are!

What’s that picture of?  (Take a guess!  Then hit “continue reading” below.)

It’s MY dendritic cells!  They’re stained for the nucleus (Draq5/blue) and MCHI (Alexa 488/green).

This, of course, is one of the cooler things I’ve gotten to do this rotation.  Actually…probably one of the cooler things ever.  How often can you look at your own cells up close under the microscope?!

    1. Good guess, but nope- they’re actually human dendritic cells! The protrusions are dendrites (there was antigen there, it’s just not stained for).

      Unfortunately I don’t have access to a ton of samples to scope myself but it’s fun to do posts like this when I can!
